![]() If I'm reading this right, now I can put all of my virtual instruments in a single template file that I can open in another tab, and have my compositions be small (essentially MIDI) files that just point to the template file. Up until now, having a large (100 MB+, say) template has always meant that every project file and backup file becomes 100 MB+ too, and takes forever to save. And I forgot to mention the iLok issues.Click to expand.Ohhhhh yes this sounds amazing, and it sounds like it will fix one of my biggest gripes with REAPER. It is insane what people tolerate to use that DAW. If there are issues, common trouble shooting tips on the DUC are to re-install your OS, completely remove all plugins, and build your system back up from scratch. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and if not you you might spend a day uninstalling, re-installing, deleting and re-installing plugins. Then back up the computer, but first install on a second machine to make sure the new version will run properly, and then attempt to launch. I'm a former Pro Tools user, and the normal upgrade procedure for many PT users is first, the huge 30 minute download. I've spent more time reading a short Email. An upgrade, from beginning of download until launch, takes about 10-15 seconds on my system, and I've never had an upgrade cause issues. Some are limited because of their license, but I doubt there are many who don't upgrade to the latest release regularly.
